Summary of Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trends

I have finally finished posting my thoughts on this fall/winter's hottest fashion trends, which include:

Military
Wedge Boots and Booties
Chunky Knits
Camel
Retro Full Skirts
Embellished Heeled Pumps
Fur Everywhere
Ladylike Top-Handle Bags
Red
Cat Eye Glasses
Unconventional Outerwear
Menswear Shoes
Velvet
Mini-Bags
Gold
Lace-Up Footwear

For more details on each of these trends click here: http://cbusstyle.blogspot.com/search/label/Fall%2FWinter%202010%20Fashion%20Trends
.

The main theme this fall and winter is dressing in a gender extreme -- either ultra masculine with military-inspired pieces and menswear shoes or uber feminine with retro full skirts and ladylike top-handle bags. And, if you are wondering what to keep around from last fall/winter and what to get rid of, moto jackets, skinny jeans, over-the-knee boots, fur vests, and booties and shooties of any kind are all still on-trend. 80s-inspired items and the strong-shouldered trend that was so popular last fall/winter are on their way out. Happy shopping and, no matter what the current trends may be, remember to stay true to your own personal style!!!

Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trend: Lace-Up Footwear

Well, ladies my summary of the biggest fall/winter 2010 fashion trends is about to come to an end. I thought I would go ahead and save one of the biggest trends for last: lace-up footwear! If you haven't noticed this trend, then you've been living under a fashion rock because lace-up boots are everywhere!!! They were featured prominently on the AW2010 runways as seen above at Reed Krakoff, Anna Sui, Peter Som, and Balmain and are widely available at shoe retailers right now. Personally, I'm impartial to this trend -- I don't really love it or hate it, but the nice thing about this trend is that it can double with another trend, so if you are liking the military trend, pick up a pair of military-inspired lace-up boots, or if you are liking the moto trend, pick up a pair of lace-up moto boots.

If you are liking the lace-up footwear trend, above are some lace-up boots than you might consider picking up: Aldo "Brissey" lace-up boot for $180 on www.aldoshoes.com; ASOS ATTACK lace-up platform bootie for $227.48 on www.asos.com; Akira "Ariel" lace-up bootie for $129.90 on www.shopakira.com; "Belle" lace-up bootie for $32.50 on www.urbanog.com; Nine West "Divara" lace-up bootie for $109 on www.piperlime.com; Steven by Steve Madden "Abee" lace-up boot for $249 on www.piperlime.com; Steve Madden "Evander" lace-up boot for $169.95 on www.stevemadden.com; RJ Girl "Amanda" lace-up boot for $150 on www.piperlime.com; Steve Madden "Cameronn" flat lace-up boot for $129.95 on www.stevemadden.com; Steve Madden "A-Rena" lace-up peeptoe bootie for $149.95 on www.stevemadden.com; Charles by Charles David "Krave" lace-up bootie for $190 on www.piperlime.com.

The lace-up trend is also not just limited to boots. Lace-up booties and shooties were also featured in a lot of AW2010 collections as seen below at Manolo Blahnik, Givenchy, Chanel, and Nicholas Kirkwood.

If you want to give this trend a try, but don't want to spend the money on a full boot or you think that the bootie or shootie is a little more your style, below are some great lace-up booties and shooties to choose from: Kelsi Dagger "Fortune" lace-up wedge shootie for $120 on www.piperlime.com; ASOS WHITE WEST platform tassel lace-up shootie for $202.20 on www.asos.com; Irregular Choice "Poetice License Backlash" lace-up shootie for $98 on www.irregularchoice.com; Miss Me "Oz" lace-up shootie for $27.50 on www.urbanog.com; Steve Madden "Annton" lace-up wedge peeptoe shootie for $129.95 on www.stevemadden.com; Dolce Vita platform lace-up oxford for $178 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; MMM "Charlize" lace-up shootie for $112 on www.nastygal.com; Lace-up wedge shootie for $25.80 on www.forever21.com; Qupid "Ceduce" perforated lace-up wedge shootie for $27.50 on www.urbanog.com; ASOS TIMBER padded collar lace-up shootie for $92.68 on www.asos.com.

Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trend: Gold

Besides camel and red, the other color that was prominently featured on the AW2010 runways was gold as seen above at Twenty8Twelve, Milly, Alexander Wang, and Balmain. Gold is such a fun color so I'm super glad that it is on-trend this fall and winter. A touch of metallic really can spice up any outfit and, since it is considered a neutral, you can pair it with any color you want whether it is another neutral like brown as seen above at Twenty8Twelve or with a non-neutral color like hot pink as seen above at Milly. If you love gold as much as I do, below are some fun gold-hued items for you to consider picking up this fall: Halston Heritage v-neck cocktail dress for $365 on www.shopbop.com; Feud "Blunt" bootie on sale for $126.38 on www.asos.com; Embellished metallic tank on sale for $19.99 on www.express.com; Metallic one-shoulder dress for 14.80 on www.forever21.com; Costume Dept leggings on sale for $52 on www.80spurple.com; Steve Madden "Caryssa" platform pump for $129.95 on www.bloomingdales.com; ASOS metallic body con mesh insert dress top for $47.18 on www.asos.com; Sparkle & Fade metallic legging for $38 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Seychelles wrap peeptoe heel for $98 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Rojas braided balloon sleeve dress for $56 on www.80spurple.com; T.B.A. "Harriet" short for $168 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Tadashi "Shoji" woven dress for $328 on www.bloomingdales.com; Polished shine tights for $14 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Nanette Lepore "Scheming" blouse for $282 on www.piperlime.com; Metallic one-shoulder banded dress for $79.90 on www.express.com; Irregular Choice "Proper English Gent" pump for $130 on www.irregularchoice.com.

Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trend: Mini-Bags

Another big fall/winter 2010 trend that was seen on the AW2010 runways (Above: Lanvin, Gucci, Donna Karan, Missoni) is the mini-bag. For those of you who know me, you know that handbags are sort of my thing and I like and own them in all sizes, shapes, and styles. I'm particularly loving the mini-bag trend because they are a great bag for a night out and you can keep your arms and armpits free unlike when you are carrying a clutch. In particular, the cross-body style is huge right now. If you are thinking of just picking up one item to update your fall/winter 2010 wardrobe, I would recommend a fun day/night cross-body mini bag because it is an item that will immediately update your look and keep you looking current and on-trend. Below are some adordable mini-bags (I just ordered the Marc by Marc Jacobs bag below (but in black and gold, not blue) and I can't wait to get it in!!!) to consider: Ash "Daisy" snake mini cross-body bag on sale for $170.19 on www.asos.com; Adorable mini bag for $24.80 on www.asos.com; Marc by Marc Jacobs embellished dot shoulder bag for $278 on www.neimanmarcus.com; Cole Haan "Ali" mini leather crossbody bag for $98 on www.bloomingdales.com; Linea Pelle "Perry" woven mini cross-body bag for $225 on www.lineapelle.com; Tory Burch "Kateson" metallic mini bag for $195 on www.bloomingdales.com; Mini cross-body bag for $39.90 on www.express.com; Poppie Jones mini cross-body bag for $19.95 on www.dsw.com; Deena & Ozzy pony hair miny purse for $38 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Badgley Mischka "Michelle" mini cross-body bag for $198 on www.nordstrom.com; Pieces small floral quilted bag for $37.07 on www.asos.com; BCBGeneration "Lily" mini cross-body bag for $78 on www.macys.com.
