Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trend: Cat Eye Glasses

One of the quirkier and more obscure fall/winter trends to emerge on the AW2010 runways were cat eye glasses. The cat-eye style is a throw back to the 50s and 60s and was typically paired on the runways with a feminine skirt as seen above at Prada, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Nina Ricci). When choosing a pair of glasses or sunglasses you have to be mindful that the shape suits your face, so this style may not be for everyone. Typically, you should chose a pair that is the opposite of your face shape, so square or rectangular glasses look good on someone with a round face and vice versa. Cat-eye glasses look best on someone with a narrow forehead and a larger jawline because they tend to emphasize and enlarge the upper part of your face. If you are liking this retro style and think the shape may suit you, below are some options to consider: Club Monaco cat eye sunglasses on sale for $29.97 on www.sunglasshut.com; 80s "Hot Tip" cat eye sunglasses for $10 on www.80spurple.com; Jee Vice cat eye sunglasses for $265 on www.neimanmarcus.com; Marc by Marc Jacobs modified cat eye sunglasses for $98 on www.saks.com; Damel cat eye sunglasses for $16 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Ray Ban oversized cat eye sunglasses for $135 on www.bloomingdales.com; Tory Burch cat eye sunglasses for $150 on www.toryburch.com; Nicole Miller "Etoile" cat eye glasses for $120.10 on www.framesdirect.com; Ralph Lauren cat eye sunglasses for $250 on www.ralphlauren.com; Kensie "Portia" cat eye sunglasses for $50 on www.nordstrom.com.

Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trend: Red

Another of the most popular hues on the AW2010 runways (in addition to camel) was red(Above: Giorgio Armani, Milly, Maison Martin Margiela, Antonio Berardi)! For some reason I don't own a lot of red items myself, but I really do like the color, although I'm not sure if I could pull off a head-to-toe red look as pictured above. I am, however, absolutely drooling over the Halston Heritage "Brandy" bag below and I am seriously stalking it so that I can pick it up the second it goes on sale! I think that a red accessory really is a staple piece in any woman's wardrobe and I'm happy to see that it is such a trendy color this fall! In the event that you are liking this trend, below are some red-hot items to consider: Cym & Ripple coat for $188 on www.anthropologie.com; Halston Heritage "Brandy" braided handle satchel for $495 on www.shopbop.com; Dolce Vita "Hayword" platform pump for $158 on www.nastygal.com; BB Dakota "Whitman" dress for $80 on www.shopbop.com; House of Cassette skinny jeans for $131 on www.80spurple.com; Patterson J. Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trend: Ladylike Top-Handle Bags

If you are thinking about picking up a new handbag this fall/winter, the top-handle satchel is one of the must-have bags of the season. Remember that this fall/winter it is all about gender extremes -- either super masculine or uber feminine -- and a ladylike satchel is right in keeping with the feminine trend. Top-handle satchels were in all of the major collections on the AW2010 runways (Above: Gucci, Marni, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabanna). Admittedly, this trend may not be super practical for the businesswoman or the mom-on-the-go since they are meant to be held in your hand or in the crook of your elbow, but not on your shoulder. Personally, I love this trend because it suits my girly aesthetic, but I know that I would find myself getting annoyed with not being able to throw the bag over my shoulder. That is why many designers are adding a detachable cross-body strap to the top-handle satchels, which I think is a great idea to make the bag more appealing for everyday use. If you are in the market for a new handbag this fall/winter and you are liking this trend, below are some options to consider, many of which contain the cross-body strap option: ASOS faux ostrich lady bag for $53.92 on www.asos.com; ASOS tassel frame bag for $109.53 on www.asos.com; B. Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trend: Fur Everywhere

Last fall it was all about the fur (real or faux) vest. This fall fur vests are still on-trend, but fur was also spotted on the AW2010 runways on coats, bags, and shoes as well (Above: Lanvin, Michael Kors, Valentino, Chanel). Basically, this fall and winter the more fur the better and not just on your clothes, but on your accessories as well. I am sort of impartial to fur myself. It doesn't get me all excited, but then again I am all for staying warm but looking good while doing so! I've managed to locate a few fun furtastic items for you to consider if you are interested in giving this trend a try.
