UPDATE: It appears that they are having some problems with their website right now. I placed an order for 3 pairs of pumps and got a confirmation saying that I purchased 1 pair of wedges! When I e-mailed about the problem, I was told that they are in the process of fixing a glitch in their system and that my order will be cancelled. Because of my experience, I am going to steer clear of this sale today, but I may take a look again tomorrow. The waterfall jacket has been around for a while, but as far as I can tell it hasn't started to become popular until quite recently. Wednesday, October 7th: Rebecca Minkoff Online Flash Sale

This Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. ET to 9:00 p.m. ET, Rebecca Minkoff is putting select items on sale on www.rebeccaminkoff.com. For those of you who do not know about Rebecca Minkoff, she is an up-and-coming handbag designer who has now branched out into clothing as well. Her most popular bags include the Nikki hobo, the Morning After Bag, and the Matinee bag, which have been seen on loads of celebrities including Hayden Panetierre, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson, Lauren Conrad, Leighton Meester, Jessica Alba, and many many more. For those of you who know me, you know that I am somewhat of a handbag freak. Handbags are my splurge items (although I always search for sales of course). I have pieces from high-end designers (Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada), mid-end designers (Botkier, Hayden-Harnett, Foley + Corinna) and lower-end designers (Coach). I would say that Rebecca Minkoff falls in the mid-end range with most bags retailing around $500, although certain of her bags retail at nearly $700. I own four RM bags myself and I must say that the leather on these bags is absolutely wonderful in my opinion and rivals the leather on some of my high-end bags. If you are looking for a unique bag (RM is not sold in any stores in Columbus) that is great quality, I highly recommend that you check out this sale on Wednesday (I know I will be!). Please note that the more popular styles will go very very quickly. RM has quite the cult following (the Minkettes) and I'm sure they will be all over this sale, so I would recommend logging onto the sale as soon as it starts. In the past, the website has crashed because of the large number of shoppers, so you may have to be patient with the sale. Finally, while I have never ordered any of my RM bags directly from RM, I have heard that it can take some time to get your bag in the mail and that their customer service is not the best, so you will need to be patient.

Trend Alert: Green Nails

Last fall the big nail color was purple. This fall it is all about green!!! Chanel's AW 2009 collection featured a limited edition nail color called "Jade" that is scheduled to be released this month. This color has quite the buzz right now and has been spotted on celebrities (see Drew Barrymore and Rachel Bilson below) already.

My guess is that this color will go quickly (rumor has it that there is already a waitlist for it!), but I'm sure that other brands will release similar colors shortly. I've already managed to locate a similar color by OPI called "Get in Lime" (pictured below).

From what I've been reading in the blogosphere lately you either love or hate this trend. Personally, I don't mind it but it would be difficult for me to get away with wearing it to the office. I am finding myself drawn to the darker shades of green, which are also on trend this fall (as featured in the Doo.Ri AW collection). If you are looking for a dark green shade, below are a few to choose from: MAC "Beyond Jealous" (worn in the Doo.Ri collection pictured below); Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Fast Dry "Jumpin Jade Frost"; OPI for Sephora "Dark Room"; OPI "Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow"; Zoya "Suvi".

When wearing unconventional colors like green, remember to keep your nails short. And if green isn't your thing, purple is definitely still in this fall and winter, as is grey, charcoal, dark plum, inky-red, copper, and wine.
