Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion Trend: Soft Neutrals

Probably the biggest trend for this Spring/Summer is the neutral color palette. Gone are the days of neon colors and other brights. Rather, this Spring and Summer it is all about neutral hues like beige, pale grey, blush, nude, and ivory. I cannot express to you how HUGE this trend was on the SS2010 runways (Above: Celine; Chanel; Lavin; Marc Jacobs). The above pictures are only a tiny sampling of the neutral frocks that walked the runway. Dressing in soft neutrals can be tricky based on your skin tone. If you have a darker or olive skin tone, then just go for it. If, however, you are on the paler side, steer clear of the beige and nude colors because they will wash you out. Instead, look for blush (pale pink) colored items and other super pale pastel colors that will provide some contrast to your skin tone. Personally, I love this trend. This Spring the taller your wedge the better! I love this trend because I am super short and love what a tall shoe can do for my look, but I hate how uncomfortable a tall heel can be.
