Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Trend: Tiny Pleats

Pleated skirts were featured in quite a few of the Spring/Summer 2011 collections (Above: Yohji Yamamoto; Chloe; Christopher Kane) this year. But I'm not talking about the huge school-uniform pleats; rather, the pleats that will be prominent this Spring and Summer are teeny-tiny giving the skirts a flowy feel. I really like this trend but have found that pleats (even the tiny variety) are not super flattering on bottom-heavy girls like myself. Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Trend: 70s

I am running a bit behind on starting my Spring/Summer trend report this year, but I suppose it is better late than never! I thought I would get us started with possibly the biggest fashion trend for this Spring and Summer -- 1970s inspired clothing (Above: Milly; Marc Jacobs; Emilio Pucci; Derek Lam).
