Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion Trend: Polka Dots

This Spring and Summer polka dots are not just for your itsy bitsy tiny weeny yellow bikini! Polka dotted prints were all over the SS2010 runways in all different sizes and colors (Above: 3.1 Philip Lim; Derek Lam; Marc by Marc Jacobs; Marni). While I'm not a huge fan of this trend, I don't really hate it either. Polka dots are classic and really never go out of style. I think the key is to not get carried away with the print. Also, remember that it is on-trend to mix a polka dot print with a contrasting print (i.e., stripes) in a similar color this Spring and Summer! Below are some polka dotted options to consider if you want to give this trend a try: Mango dot print tie detail top for $42.56 on www.asos.com; Mango dot print drop waist tunic for $76.75 on www.asos.com; Pencey twist polka dot miniskirt for $115 on www.shopbop.com; Nanette Lepore "Every Breath" polka dot dress for $328 on www.shopbop.com; Polka-peppered dress for $148 on www.anthropologie.com; Bycorpus polka dot jumper for $58 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Caroline Hedaya polka dot drape back tank for $165 on www.shopbop.com; Noble Youth "Grenada" polka dot dress for $195 on www.revolveclothing.com; Polka dot knit top for $19.80 on www.forever21.com; Mango big dot print bandeau dress for $85.30 on www.asos.com; Jessica Simpson cotton halter dress for $128 on www.macys.com; Elizabeth + James artist polka dot shirt for $245 on www.shopbop.com; "Pop Goes my Heart" dress for $42 on www.lulus.com.
