Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Trend: Peplum Tops
If you haven't noticed the peplum trend lately then you've been living under a rock! While peplum skirts and dresses were all the range this past Spring and Spring, this Fall and Winter it is all about the peplum top. (Above: 3.1 Phillip Lim; Bottega Veneta; Elie Tahari; Elizabeth and James.) The trick to wearing this trend is to wear something without volume on the bottom like skinny jeans or a pencil skirt since the pepulm adds volume on top. Plus, if the peplum ruffle is too girly for you, consider getting the top in an edgier fabric like leather. If you want to give this trend a try, below are some options to consider: Alice + Olivia peplum top for $198 on www.shopbop.com; ASOS peplum blouse with bow for $51.74 on www.asos.com; ASOS peplum top for $65.53 on www.asos.com; Collared peplum shirt for $17.80 on www.forever21.com; Collective Concepts peplum blouse for $69 on www.piperlime.com; Metallic mesh peplum tank for $15.80 on www.forever21.com; Party Topper sequin peplum top for $56 on www.lulus.com; Polka dot peplum top for $19.80 on www.forever21.com; Sparkle & Fade colorblock peplum top for $39 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Tinley Road vegan leather peplum top for $98 on www.piperlime.com; Torn by Ronny Kobo "Judy" peplum top for $176 on www.piperlime.com; Elizabeth and James "Yumi" top for $365 on www.piperlime.com.
