In Style Memoriam: Alexander McQueen

As most of you have probably heard by now, famed fashion designer Alexander McQueen passed away earlier this month on February 11th. Best known for his avant-garde edgy designs and skull scarves, McQueen will be missed by many in the fashion industry. Lady Gaga ranks McQueen as one of her favorite designers. Most of his designs cost upward of $1,000, however, he recently launched a more wearable lower-end line called McQ by Alexander McQueen. The brand recently announced that it will continue on even without the designer, but if you are interested in purchasing a piece or two of McQueen's actual creations while they are still available, below are some options under $360 to choose from, while they last: Alexander McQueen black and white chiffon skull-scarf for $260 available on
www.neimanmarcus.com; Alexander McQueen grey and blue jersey skull-scarf for $285 available on www.saks.com; Alexander McQueen skull keychain for $125 available on www.saks.com; Alexander McQueen grey and orange chiffon skull-scarf for $260 available on www.saks.com; McQ by Alexander McQueen couture puff-sleeve dress for $355 available on www.neimanmarcus.com; Alexander McQueen multicolored skull-scarf for $345 available on www.neimanmarcus.com; McQ by Alexander McQueen cobweb dress for $320 available on www.neimanmarcus.com; Alexander McQueen white and black chiffon skull-print scarf for $260 available on www.neimanmarcus.com.

If spending over $200 on a scarf seems a tad ludicrous to you, below are some less expensive Alexander McQueen inspired pieces to choose from: Piper & Blue mini skulls print lightweight scarf on sale for $5.00 on www.kmart.com; Seven silver skull and crossbone crystal pendant necklace for $103.45 available on www.asos.com; Torrid skull studded scarf for $12 on www.torrid.com; Coach pave skull keyfob for $48 available on www.coach.com.
