Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion Trend: Exposed Lingerie

This Spring it's time to wear your underwear as your outerwear! Believe it or not, the SS2010 runways were littered with loads of models with their lingerie exposed for all to see (Above: Christian Dior; Jean Paul Gaultier; Marc Jacobs; Dolce & Gabbana)! What do you think of this trend? Crazy or Genius? While this trend may have been popular on the runways, at least for me, that is where it shall remain. If I saw someone walking down the Columbus streets in a bustier I would wonder what loony bin she escaped from (or assume that she was a bartender at Sugar Bar). I am admittedly a fan of lingerie inspired pieces, but straight up wearing your bra or panties on the outside of your clothes is a tad on the crazy side for me! However, in case you are more daring than I am, I have gathered a few lingerie-inspired pieces for you to consider below: "Busty" knit dress for $22.80 available on www.forever21.com; Dolce Vita "Ash" tank for $132 available on www.shopbop.com; Evil Twin smudge print bustier for $74.56 available on www.asos.com; Urban Renewal lace bustier dress for $29.99 available on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Tuxedo sequin bustier for $48 available on www.nastygal.com; Ruffle lace bustier for $14.80 available on www.forever21.com; Polka dot bustier dress for $22.80 available on www.forever21.com; Lavender lace bustier for $36 available on www.nastygal.com; Pency seamed leggings for $132 available on www.shopbop.com; Evil Twin studded bustier for $74.56 available on www.asos.com; Re Collection leather bustier for $185 available on www.shopbop.com; Karen Millen delicate silk lingerie dress for $292.90 available on www.asos.com; Only Hearts French lace racer back bodysuit for $118 available on www.shopbop.com; Nylon spandex stretch floral lace stirrup leggings for $42 available on www.americanapparel.com.
