Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trend: Chunky Knits

Another trend that was prominent on the AW2010 fashion runways were chunky knits, which primarily appeared in the form of oversized cardigans, but also popped up in the form of sweater dresses, vests, and pullovers (Above: Stella McCartney, Loewe, Dolce & Gabbana, 3.1 Phillip Lim). Regardless of the form, the key to this trend is choosing an item with a thick knit whether it is boucle, cabled, or heathered. Personally, I love a chunky knit and I can't wait to pair mine with a short dress and tights or with a pair of skinny jeans. They are a great transitional piece to bring you from summer to autumn and will keep you warm as the nights get cooler in the C-bus without having to break out a coat!
