Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Trend: Retro Full Skirts

This fall it is all about traditional silhouettes -- either extremely masculine (i.e., military inspired pieces, menswear shoes) or uber feminine with full skirts, dresses, and coats as seen above at Prada, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, and Marc by Marc Jacobs. 50s-style retro full skirts were all over the AW2010 runways -- think Mad Men! I am loving this trend, although I do think it would be hard to translate the super full skirts like those featured at Louis Vuitton into an everyday wardrobe. But the Lanvin coat and Marc by Marc Jacobs dress above are both gorgeous and definitely more wearable. If you can't wait to channel your inner Betty Draper, below are some options to consider: Dot couture dress for $57.99 on www.modcloth.com; "About the Artist" dress for $52.99 on www.modcloth.com; Dahlia funnel neck buckle fastening trench coat for $185.35 on www.asos.com; Heartbreaker 40s style "Diner" dress for $84 on www.unique-vintage.com; "Soda Fountain" dress for $44.99 on www.modcloth.com; "Put on a Party" dress for $164.99 on www.modcloth.com; "Pins and Needles" high-waisted skirt for $58 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Marc by Marc Jacobs fatigue stretch twill strapless dress for $348 on www.nordstrom.com; Heartbreaker 50s style "Swing" dress for $76 on www.unique-vintage.com; TBA double-breasted swing coat for $278.03 on www.asos.com; "Mullany" dress for $258 on www.anthropologie.com; Sparkle and Fade full voile skirt on sale for $29 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; "Star Lake" dress for $94.99 on www.modcloth.com; Feathered "Perch" skirt for $148 on www.anthropologie.com.
