Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Trend: Colorblocking

Last summer it was all about muted beige tones for Spring and Summer, but this year the brighter the better! And the most on-trend way to wear your brights is together (Above: Prabal Gurung; Missoni; Marni; Jill Sander). For the most part when mixing brights you want to try to keep them in the same color family, but sometimes even mixing colors that are not in the same color family works too (i.e., Prabal Gurung above). It looks like this is going to be one of the more popular trends this Spring and Summer, so if you want to try it out, below are some options to consider: Aqua tube color block dress for $68 on; DKNYC colorblock tee for $89 on; BDG Bateau sweater for $49 on; Sparkle & Fade colorblock babydoll dress for $59 on; Sparkle & Fade colorblock top for $54 on; Oasis colorblock dress for $107.58 on; Sparkle & Fade colorblock strapless dress for $59 on; Red Haute colorblock dolman sleeve top for $68 on; BDG Breton dress for $49 on; Kensie soft crepe two-toned top for $68 on; Irina Shabayeya for INC coloblocked bandage mini skirt for $89 on; Colorblock dress for $17.80 on

Color blocking was also not just seen on clothes on the runway, but has also made its way into accessories for this Spring and Summer (Below: Diego Dolcini; Louis Vuitton; Pierre Hardy; Balenciaga)!

Handbags and shoes in bright contrasting colors are going to be a must-have for this Spring and Summer. Below are some color-blocked accessories that you may want to pick up: Nine West "Stylin" sandal for $89 on; Marc by Marc Jacobs colorblock bolt ring for $38 on; ASOS "Lulu" monochrome bow ballet pumps on sale for $35.86 on; Rebecca Minkoff colorblock clutch for $330 on; ASOS colorblock suede-look double wrap belt for $21.52 on; Tribal colorblock bracelet for $4.80 on; London Fog "Saville" hobo on sale for $82.50 on; Nine West "Braxton" wedge for $99 on
