Fall/Winter 2009 Fashion Trend: Plaid

I don't think plaid ever goes out of style in the the C-bus because I am constantly seeing people wearing it around here regardless of the season. It seems, however, that plaid has finally made it outside the midwest and onto the fall fashion runways this year. Above: DKNY, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Marni, Vivienne Westwood. Plaids can be found in retail stores around town on shirts, skirts, dresses, and accessories alike and in a variety of colors. I'm not a huge plaid girl myself, but I don't mind it when it is paired with other feminine pieces or is printed onto a feminine piece (like the Banana Republic full skirt below). Below are some options to choose from if you want to bring out your inner farmer this fall: Aqua fitted plaid two-pocket shirt for $68 available on www.bloomingdales.com; Donna Morgan plaid sheath dress for $158 available at Nordstrom; Burberry check hat for $150 available at Nordstrom; Banana Republic plaid full skirt for $70; Kensie plaid dress with belt for $88 available at Macy's; Banan Republic plaid ruffle shirt for $60; Juicy Couture plaid scarf with knotted tassels for $79 available on www.bloomingdales.com; Miss Sixty double breasted belted plaid ombre coat on sale for $182.99 down from $245 at Macy's; Banana Republic plaid wool military hat for $35; Charlotte Russe plaid pencil skirt for $24.99; Charlotte Russe plaid bubble dress for $29.99; Hurley "Wilson" smocked plaid top for $44 available on www.lulus.com.
